How To Create & Configure Your Facebook Page
Facebook is one of the most effective platforms you can use to build your brand, spread your message and grow your business. Therefore, I highly recommend you start your social media marketing journey on Facebook. In this article, I will show you how to create and configure your page correctly. If you have any trouble – feel free to get in touch with us for help.
Creating Your Business Page
- Go to facebook.com/pages/create
- Login to Facebook (If you aren’t already logged in)
- Choose a page type
- Follow the instructions on-screen
Set Your Profile & Cover Photos
You can skip this step if you’ve already configured your profile and cover photos in the previous instructions. But if you haven’t chosen these images – follow along.
Go to the home page of your new business page. You will find that there are 2 images up top. A small one on the left, and a larger image that fills up the rest of the space on the right. These allow you to portray images that represent your business. These are the first 2 things that your potential customers will see when they visit your page, so you have to make sure it catches their eye.
It’s important for page visitors to understand your business as quickly as possible since it sets the mood. Therefore, your images should be outstanding, and closely related to the core of your business in order to engage the viewer.
In order to change these images – simply hover your mouse over the pictures and click. Make sure you have the images you wish to use saved on your device, to simplify the rest of the process.
Configuring Your Page
Now that you have set up your page and added your images you’ll want to explore and learn how to navigate around. You can’t break your page, so don’t be afraid to push any buttons in order to learn the platform.
I’d advise that you fill out as many forms on your page as possible: eg descriptions, business address, phone numbers etc. Doing this makes your page easier to find and allows it to be ranked higher in search results. You should also add a link to your website on your page so that people know where to go if they want more information about your business.
Now that your page is all set up and configured you’ll want to build an audience. To build an audience you’ll need people to like, share, or comment on your page.
A great way to start is by inviting your friends to like your page, as they are likely to be interested. You will find a box on the right-hand side of your Facebook page where you’ll be able to do this. Take a look at the image below for reference.
To summarise – now you know how to create and configure a Facebook page. The next step is learning how to post content that sells alongside quality imagery. Learn the easy way to create original images for your social media.
